Evacsheet

+ Placing the Evac Sheet for Patient Evacuation

To properly use the Evac Sheet, follow these instructions for placing it between the mattress and the bed:

  • The Evac Sheet must be placed securely in between the mattress and the bed.
  • Fasten the safety straps around the patient to ensure their stability during evacuation.

+ Turning the Mattress and Sliding the Patient

During the evacuation process, follow these steps for turning the mattress and sliding the patient:

  • Grasp the handle at the foot of the bed and turn the mattress around 90 degrees.
  • Slide the patient down onto the floor, ensuring their safety.
  • Pull the patient towards the designated gathering point while keeping your back straight.

Ensuring Patient Safety during Evacuation

To minimize the risk of injury to the patient during evacuation, adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Always pull the patient with their feet first, both when on the floor and descending the stairs.
  • This approach reduces the potential for injuries and ensures the patient’s safety.

+ Ergonomic Handling with Long Handles

The Evac Sheet is designed to prioritize the well-being of personnel during patient evacuation. Consider the following aspects:

  • The Evac Sheet features long handles on both ends of the mattress.
  • These handles allow personnel to maintain a healthy posture, reducing the risk of back injuries.
  • The ergonomic design facilitates the lifting and horizontal movement of the mattress.

Coordinated Efforts with Side Handles

The side handles of the Evac Sheet assist personnel in effectively coordinating the evacuation process:

  • The side handles enable personnel to lift and maneuver the mattress horizontally.
  • This feature streamlines the movement of the patient, enhancing the overall evacuation process.
