What Is a Thermobonded Nonwoven Interlining?
A thermobonded nonwoven interlining is made from a web of fibres bonded together by heat, without weaving, knitting or stitching. The result is a light, uniform base with little or no grain direction, so pieces can be cut efficiently and processed quickly in industrial garment production.
An adhesive applied as a dot pattern turns the base into a fusible interlining. By selecting the fibre, the base weight and the coating together, the interlining can be matched to almost any outer fabric – which is why this type is used so widely across fashion production. The dot pattern also keeps the bond flexible, so the fused area stays comfortable.
